Room: 354

COPE (Children Overcoming Problems through Education) at Mesquite Elementary School is a self-contained classroom program.  Our mission is to help our students be successful by learning coping skills, self-regulation and building lasting friendships.  Students are encouraged to gain the necessary skills so that they may rejoin peers in general education classrooms.

Our philosophy:  Positivity, Patience, and Prevention

To create a positive, safe and respectful environment in which students are able to make mistakes, learn and cope with daily struggles.  Our students will know that we care about them and will guide them to be the best version of themselves.

About Me

Stacy Daskam, M.S., Counselor

I am proud to be a part of Mesquite Elementary School’s COPE program!  This is my 23rd year as a counselor, my 3rd year at Mesquite. I have worked for community agencies and various school districts providing drug/alcohol education, community education, one-on-one counseling, and group counseling.   I enjoy being innovative and strive to continue to learn alongside my students and team.

As the counselor for COPE, it’s my role to provide one-on-one counseling, group social skills counseling, crisis management, education, and be a resource to families.  Please feel free to email or call me if I can help or answer any questions.
