Welcome to 4th Grade!

About Me

I grew up in Stamford, Connecticut. As a child I swam competitively, loved to draw & paint, and spent any extra time outdoors. I loved growing up in CT, but I could never love shoveling snow. After graduating high school, I packed my bags and headed for the Grand Canyon State to attend classes at Arizona State University; Fork 'em Devils! I quickly learned that the lifestyle I had grown accustomed to would quickly change. Not just college life, but life in Arizona! I traded my snow shovel and ice scraper for an assortment of water bottles and hats.

Prior to becoming a teacher I was fortunate to work at the Phoenix Zoo, and love sharing my zoo stories with students. I also spent almost 20 years on the pool deck coaching competitive swimming, but recently hung up my stop watch & whistle to spend more time at home with my growing family.

I have been teaching at Mesquite since 2001. I taught sixth grade for eleven years before moving classrooms to teach fourth grade. I am very excited about the programs and learning environment at Mesquite. I am committed to providing all students with the highest level of learning opportunities, as well as facilitate their growth as responsible and caring students.
